General

Use Humane Resources for direct assistance with a specific matters large or small, whether for prevention or cure, or just for a second opinion. We offer tailored consultancy to help with workplace stress and diversity issues, from designing and helping you implement policies, to helping you decide who is bullying who, and how to deal with a bullying situation in the best interests of all concerned.

These are the only HR issues we can help you with, and we appreciate they are among the most sensitive an employer can face. Careers, reputations and health can be affected as well as jobs. Before taking any decisions it’s essential to get an informed, objective view of the facts, and to be aware of all the options.

It’s often perceived that where there has been a breakdown in relationships between two colleagues, one of them will have to leave. We don’t think this is automatically so in every case.

Having said that, it's sometimes unavoidable, and that is when you need to be sure that you’re letting go of the right person. People who regularly bully others are adept at looking like victims when necessary. Let us help you sort the sheep from the wolves.

Independent investigations

Our investigation service is designed to be genuinely independent, and we believe that using it is likely to reduce the risk of litigation following an internal dispute. Humane Resources does not offer any HR services other than those listed here, and our fee is payable in advance so that employees (potential claimants) can see we have nothing to gain from any particular outcome. The outcome of an investigation will be presented in a comprehensive, fully and logically reasoned report with references to applicable policies and law, which will give both parties to the dispute an opportunity to gain closure and move on.

Second Opinion

If someone's advising you to play tough with a burned out employee or a whistleblower, think carefully before following their advice. Following bad advice might take you straight to the employment tribunal, possibly with the lawyer who gave the advice on hand to help you out. It would not be the first time it's happened.
